Heart Dialogue Options

Direct answerA heart icon on a dialogue option means you are flirting — steering the hidden Romance meter. Not every character responds to heart options.
What the heart does
- Marks a romance-leaning reply — you are hitting on the character (community reports).
- Moves the hidden Romance meter rather than the friendship track.
- Numbers change only the first time you answer each question.
What it does not do
- Not a guaranteed unlock — romance payoffs are thin in Early Access.
- Not every NPC has heart options; community consensus says not every character is romanceable.
- No separate romance menu — the system lives inside normal conversations.
Persona shapes your options
The Persona picked at character creation (Hero, Scholar, Joker, Stoic) biases which replies appear, heart options included — see the Persona guide.
Co-op note
In multiplayer, each player votes for a reply and gets that reply's meter change, but the NPC answers one vote picked at random — your heart pick may not be the line that plays. See relationships in co-op.
